  • Better Later Life Action Plan 2025–2028

    The Better Later Life Action Plan 2025–2028 sets out practical steps to help older New Zealanders live well for longer and continue contributing to their families, communities, and the economy.

    It builds on the Better Later Life Strategy and focuses on three priority areas: health and care, housing, and cost-of-living.

    The plan aims to improve access to health services, strengthen social connection, and support digital inclusion. It promotes secure, affordable housing so people can age in place and introduces measures to ease cost-of-living pressures, including financial planning support, banking access, and protections against elder abuse. Actions also include reviewing driver licence settings, expanding digital training, modernising the SuperGold Card, and supporting older workers through age-friendly employment initiatives.
